Support to Kyrgyz Art and Culture

Support of the culture and arts is the priority course of AUB’s charity. One of the brightest projects is “Kyrgyzstan’s golden fund”- the electronic library which main goal is to popularize and keep the country’s valuable works of art. An electronic collection of the best works of art and writings of the Kyrgyz Republic was assembled within the framework of the project.

In 2006 AUB started the program “Forever” aimed at support of the culture and art. Within the framework of the program the Bank organized and financed several exhibitions that became major events in the cultural life of the country. As the general partner of the National Opera and Ballet Theater AUB regularly rendered financial support to the Theater’s performances.

In 2007 AsiaUniversalBank published a unique 400-page book – “Art in Kyrgyzstan. XX-XXI centuries”. It is the first and the biggest publication on fine art of Kyrgyzstan that has been published since USSR times.

Some paintings of well-known artist S.A. Chuikov were restored, and a monograph “Semyon Chuikov and his epoch”, timed to the artist’s 105th anniversary, was published thank to AUB’s support.

Among other events supported by the Bank in 2006-2007 are:

• A concert of world-known pianist, Andrei Pisarev;
• “Behind the glass”, Y. Boikov’s exhibition;
• “Top world jewelers on the land of Ala-Too”, international exhibition;
• Guest performances of world ballet-stars in the national Academic Opera and Ballet theatre;
• International “kurultai”-conference of cinematograph workers;
• “Holy spring” modern-ballet, staging by the French choreographer Lorance Levasser, in Kyrgyz Academic Opera and Ballet theatre.
